Preaching Salvation

  • Salvation is God’s idea, not man’s, which makes salvation have unfathomable depth
  • Salvation is an idea of God, not an experience that man goes through.  Never preach the experience, preach the great idea behind the experience.
  • When presenting salvation, the good news, if someone is having difficulty understanding/accepting, it is not up to us to figure out the reason behind the difficulty.  We simply present the truth and let the Holy Spirit reveal the difficulty.
  • The greatest test of the quality of our preaching is whether or not it brings everyone to judgement.  When the truth is preached, the Holy Spirit will bring each person face to face with God himself and the person can judge himself based on the perfection of God.
  • Afraid to preach?  If Jesus ever commanded us to do something that He was unable to equip us to accomplished, He would be a liar.  And if we make our own inability a stumbling block or an excuse not to be obedient, it means that we are telling God that there is something which He has not yet taken into account.  Self-reliance must be put to death.
  • The instance we recognize our weakness and our dependence upon Him will be the instance the Holy Spirit exhibits power.
